MCSDK 3.0.3.15, CCS 5.5 New products discovered loop

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MATHLIB

I am using MCSDK 3.0.3.15 for K2H development. I am using Ubuntu 12.04/32-bit. As directed I installed CCS 5.5.0.00077 and ran mcsdk_3_00_03_15_setuplinux.bin.

Every time I start CCS, I get a "New Products Discovered" dialog with a list of 9 items. They all present a message (when hovering) to the effect that the "... product was designed for use with earlier versions of ..." CCS. If I select them, it just results in an infinite loop of this dialog, finish, this dialog...  If I don't select them, I deselect them, I won't get the products installed. What should I do?

The packages are: ctoolslib(1.0.2.0), dsplib_c66x(3.2.0.1), edma3_lld(2.11.10.09), imglib_c66x(3.1.1.0), mathlib_c66x(3.1.0.0), mcsdk_bios(3.0.3.15), pdk_keystone2(3.0.3.15, salld_keystone2(2.0.2.0), and syslib(3.0.0.4).

Note that I believe I got a longer list the first time I ran CCS, but the other products appear to have installed. I did get a warning about them being unsigned.

Thanks,

Lance

  • Hi,

Have you installed latest MCSDK  i.e. version latest than 3.0.3.15 on your machine?  If yes, please use the latest for your development.

From my understanding, all the packages are installed however when need to use the lower version packages for building the project then manual project configuration is required.

Please attach the screenshot of "Discovered products" screen.

    Thank you.

  • Rajasekaran,
I have been using 3.0.3.15 for some time now for yocto development and I am in the middle of time-critical development. I would prefer not change everything right now.

However, I created a new VM and installed the latest MCSDK (3.1.1.4), which still calls for the same CCS version (5.5.0.00077). I got the same issue. I have attached both screen shots -- from the 3.0.3.15 and the 3.1.1.4 installations.

Interestingly, in both cases, these packages appear in the Help-> About -> Installation Details list. Does that mean that they are actually installed properly?

    Thanks,
    Lance

  • HI Lance,

Your understanding is correct. It is installed however when we want to build the RTSC projects with older version of components, the user must select the correct components for build.

    Thank you.

  • Rajasekaran,

Okay. So is this new product detection loop normal? It happened on clean installations of of both 3.0.3.15 and the latest MCSDK (3.1.1.4). Are there plans to fix it? Should we just ignore it?

    Thanks,

    Lance

  • From my understanding, Yes. It is normal however please post this issue in CCS forum for fix.
    Thank you.
