Creating ARM project in CCS

Hello,

Currently I am trying to create a CCS project for K2E EVM, to run on ARM core instead of DSP. I can compile the code, but during execution I found that PLL registers are not configuring. I realize that I may have to run my application in supervisior mode. So could anyone please let me know how can I configure arm core in to supervisior mode through CCS? Please let us know if there is any example code available for CCS.

Please find the ARM boot examples from below link. You shall use those as reference and build it for K2E.

Thanks. I got the source code, but it seems that it will not serve my purpose as I am creating project on CCS using TI's arm compiler. for time being if I add .s file directly to my project even then I got so many errors.

Please note that right now I am trying to port platform_library available for DSP core to ARM core.

Hello,

I have created a project for ARM core using CCS. While I load program the CPSR register changes from 0x60000153 to 0x60000150 and my PC comes to main function. Now I want to change CPSR register back to 0x60000153. Could anyone please let me know how can I do this?

Hello Rajasekaran,

If I add below set of instructions in my program .c file then it should change CPSR mode field to SVC mode(10011b) from user mode(10000b).

    __asm("   mrs r0, cpsr");
    __asm("   bic r0, r0, #0x1f");
    __asm("   orr r0, r0, #0x13");
    __asm("   msr cpsr, r0");

I could see the first 3 instructions changing the contains of banked register r0 of user mode in each step. But any how last instruction for loading CPSR registers with modified contains of r0 register is not getting reflected and stayed in user mode. Am I missing something here?

If I do change in CPSR register manually (from changing CORE registers window of CCS) then I can get into SVC mode and my purpose is fulfilled. But my requirement is to generate a code and .out that does not require user's action to change the mode.

Any help is appreciated.

I am able to resolve the issue by changing .cmd file and adding .asm file(which contains assembly code for SWI) in to project.
