C6657 clocking

Hello

we use the C6657 in a stand alone controller application. We don' t use the fast serial links PCIe, HyperLink, SRIO.

In  the Data Sheet the clocking input are specified with min and max values.

The question: Is it possible to use the C6657 without SRIOGMIICLK, HyerLinkCLK, PCIeCLK because of saving power on the board.

  • Hi Detlef,

yes. Any unused LJCB or LVDS differential clock inputs should be connected to the

appropriate rails to establish a valid logic level.

With an 1-k Ohm resistor you can reduce power consumption. The positive terminal should be connected to

the respective power rail. This is described in the Hardware Design Guide for KeyStone I Devices.

    Kind regards,

    one and zero

  • Hello Detlef,

Yes, the reference clock for unused peripherals are not required and the clock input pins must be terminated as mentioned in hardware design guide.
