XDS200 on EVMK2E

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 66AK2E05

Hello,

I am designing a custom board from EVMK2E to use 66AK2E05 processor.

Do I have to include an onboard XDS200 emulator circuitry on my custom board? In that case, how can I get the contents of AM1802BZWTD3 and CPLD?

Thanks in advance,

Jaehyun Park

  • Hi,

Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages (for processor issues). Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics (e2e.ti.com).

Hardware Peripheral experts will answer your question shortly.

    Thanks,
  • Hello Jaehyun,

It is [not] necessary to include XDS200 emulator circuitry on your custom board. You can just provide JTAG connector on your board and use external emulator.

Even If you want to include XDS200 emulator circuitry on your board, you cannot get the contents of AM1802BZWTD3 and CPLD from the vendor since it is confidential.

  • Dear Senthil,

    Thanks for your kind answer.

I understand that a custom board needs a XDS200 emulator circuitry to program 66AK2E05. However, XDS200 emulator circuitry contains AM1802BZWTD3 and CPLD, so the XDS200 emulator circuitry would not work if the contents of both components are not programmed.

Therefore, it seems that only available options for the custom board is using a JTAG connector and an external XDS200 emulator. Am I right?

    Thanks,
    Jaehyun
  • Hello Jaehyun,

Yes, you can have the option to use JTAG connector and an external XDS200 emulator.
