C667X 1.0 GHZ vs 1.25 GHz

Is there a difference in the hardware configuration (e.g. voltages, resistor values etc) for a C667X running at 1.0 GHz vs 1.25 GHz,

except different clock multiplier values ?

Hi,

No, Hardware configuration is same(e.g. voltages, resistor values etc) for a C667X running at 1.0 GHz vs 1.25 GHz.

Software configuration is enough for a C667X running at 1.0 GHz vs 1.25 GHz. I have tested the TI EVM boards with multiple CPU frequency.

Can a 1.25 GHz DSP run anywhere between 1.0 GHz and 1.25 GHz?

Yes I have referenced the EVM schematics.
We already have a working board (VF360) with C6674 running at 1.0 GHz
(www.parsec.co.za/.../Parsec_VF_360.pdf)

We are now manufacturing some VF360 boards with C6678 @ 1.25 GHz

What is the minimum and maximum frequency of SYSCLK1 (for 1.25 GHz DSP)

Hello Piet,

Yes, there is difference in voltage and boot pin configurations for C667x running at 1.0 GHz and 1.25 GHz.

For voltage details, please refer section 6.2 Recommended Operating Conditions in device data manual. The smart reflex will play a major role in adjusting this core voltage. The boot pin configurations for various frequencies are given in section 2.5.4 PLL Boot Configuration Settings in device data manual.

The 1.25 GHZ device is recommended to operate at 1.25 GHz. However you can operate it from 1.0 GHz to 1.25 GHz, but there wont be any reduction in the power consumption. The minimum frequency of C667x SYSCLK1 is 800 MHz and the maximum depends on the device specification like 1.0 GHz , 1.25 GHz...
