EVMK2H evaluation module got "SoC power failure"

I got a new EVMK2H evaluation module yesterday. I followed what is in the "quick start guide" to boot up out-of-box demonstration, but it did not work. And I got an error message "SoC power failure" on the LCD screen.

Have you followed the below getting started steps?

What is your BMC version from BMC console? If it is not the latest, v1.0.2.5, please upgrade it by following the steps in "UCD Power Management Modules In-Field Update" at the EVMK2H Hardware Setup link in Getting Started Chapter of the Keystone-2 User's Guide.

HI,
Yes, I followed exactly what is in the "quick start guide".

My BMC version is v1.0.2.6. I think it is one of the latest. So BMC firmware shouldn't be the issue.

Hi,

I followed the two suggestions in the "Know issue.pdf", and neither works.

Could you please help me figure out what goes wrong and how to fix it? The board is like this since the very beginning, and I did not even get a chance to use it.

What is the revision of the EVM ?

Where did you buy this EVM, from TI website or from Advantech or any distributor ?

I hope you have not done any rework on the board to resolve this issue ? If that is the case, i would recommend you to contact where you bought this board and intiate for return/replacement.

Hi Senthil,

I bought it from Newark. My understanding is if what is suggested in the online document doesn't work, the board itself is probably defective. So I already issued a replacement to Newark, and asked them to get me a new one.

Thanks for the suggestion. I hope I won't have the same issue with the new board.

We have updated UCD files to fix power issue. We recommend you to go through the known issue document and fix the power issue by updating the UCDs.
