XDS200 Mezzazine Emulator

Hello,

We have the TMDSEVM6657LS board which has the XDS200 Mezzazine Emulator.

Our custom development boards have the TI-14-PIN JTAG.

Is it possible to use the Mezzazine Card to connect to our boards?

The  J5 JTAG interface seems to have the appropriate number of pins but not the right signals. Is it possible to configure the card to enable 14-PIN JTAG from J5? Perhaps from any JP1-JP8 switches?

Otherwise, should we use the J3 JTAG with the 60-PIN  JTAG connector of the Mezzazine Card? In that case, which 60-PIN to 14-PIN connector should we get?

In general, is there any documentation for the XDS200 Mezzazine Emulator card to understand the Jtag interfaces that is supports?

Thank you,

  • Hello Giorgos,

At this moment, i cannot say you can use J5 JTAG connector for custom board interface. I do not have design files of mezzanine emulator to verify this. I would try to check internally and update you.

Yes, you can use J3 JTAG connector. However you may need to have either 60 pin connector in your board or 60 pin to 14 pin JTAG adapter.

    Note: Removed the link

  • Hi Giorgos,

It is possible to use the XDS200 on your custom board but you should note that removing the XDS200 from the EVM will void your warrantee. The XDS uses the MIPI60 connector on the bottom of the board (J4) as you emulator JTAG connector. You will need a 14pin to MIPI60 adapter to make that connection. The Spectrum Digital adapter suggested by Senthil adapts in the wrong direction so it won't work for you . Blackhawk does make an adapter to go from 14pin on the board to MIPI on the emulator. That part number is BH-ADP-60E_MIPI-14T-TI.
