Hi Support,

Is there an EVK for TMS320C6655? Customer felt that the power consumption on TMS320C6657 EVK is high.

Is it possible to solder the TMS320C6655 onto the TMS320C6657 EVK?

Hi,

TMS320C6655 EVM is not available in market. Please use the TMS320C6657 EVM for your testing, TMS320C6657 have 2 DSP core and TMS320C6655 have single DSP core and both devices are same pin compatible.

Is it possible to solder the TMS320C6655 onto the TMS320C6657 EVK?

Yes, It is possible. I will check with hardware team and re-confirm the same.

You can also use the power consumption model spreadsheet available in product folder to analyze the power consumption of single core in C6657.

Is this confirmed by your hardware team?

In addition, may I know the use of TSIP. Its mentioned on the website: http://www.ti.com/product/TMS320C6655 but not in the datasheet: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320c6655.pdf

1. Yes, It is confirmed.

• TMS320C6657 @ 1 GHz – 3.5 W
• TMS320C6655 @ 1 GHz – 2.5 W

2. C665X devices does not have TSIP peripheral. Only, C6671/2/4/8(Keystone I) devices has TSIP peripheral. Thank you for pointing the link, it will be corrected soon.
