Cannot create boot partition in NAND .

Hi,

Please provide me procedure to flash the boot partition in Nand.

I am using tisdk filesystem from the latest sdk Release.

I followed below procedure to remount the boot partition but dint work,

Compile:-

mkfs.ubifs -r boot/ -F -o boot.ubifs -m 2048 -e 126976 -c 122

Procedure in u-boot:-

tftp 82000000 boot.ubifs

ubi part ubifs

ubifsmount boot

ubi remove boot

ubi create boot size in hex of the ubifs image

ubi write $addr_file} boot [size in hex of the ubifs image]


After rebooting, i could find only loader boot partition not the updated one.

Please let me know whether the procedure i am following is correct.

Tried the below command ?
ubi write 0x82000000 boot [size in hex of the ubifs image]

u-boot# dhcp ${addr_file} ${tftp_root}/keystone-evm-boot.ubifs
u-boot# ubi part ubifs
u-boot# ubifsmount boot
u-boot# ubi remove boot
u-boot# ubi create boot [size in hex of the ubifs image]
u-boot# ubi write $addr_file} boot [size in hex of the ubifs image]

After "ubi remove boot" , please do make sure that boot directory is really removed.
Also please make sure that you have the appropriate u-boot version when you do this commands.

I have already tried the commands you have suggested but it dint work.

I am compiling the boot directory using below commands and plz confirm whether its correct,

mkfs.ubifs -r boot/ -F -o boot.ubifs -m 2048 -e 126976 -c 146

Yes, your commands seems okay.
Please do make sure that you have given the "c" parameter value based on your size of boot folder.
You can also update the boot folder contents (db, kernel image and skern) in Linux.
Just you want to update the boot folder contents in u-boot ?

I did below commands and could see the boot folder updated with new kernel image .I used ubifsls to check whether boot folder is updated or not.

ubi remove boot
ubi create boot size in hex of the ubifs image
ubi write 82000000 boot size
ubifsls
boot
But after giving boot command and into filesystem prompt, if i see the boot directory, only old files are there and not updated one.

Yes i want to update the boot folder in u-boot.

If it is possible to update in linux , let me the know that procedure also.

root@keystone-evm:~# mkdir /mnt/boot
root@keystone-evm:~# mount -t ubifs ubi0_0 /mnt/boot
root@keystone-evm:~# root@keystone-evm:~# cd /mnt/boot

Change the files you want to update, copy into "/mnt/boot" folder here.

root@keystone-evm:/# umount /mnt/boot
