TCI6630K2L: The file for signals configuration in SoC

Part Number: TCI6630K2L

Is it possible to compress linear FM (Chirp) signal with bandwidth 50 MHz (signal duration 4 to 16us) and simple signals with duration up to 32us in TCI 6630?
An intermediate frequency is 100MHz.

Which soft (document file) should be used to configure the SoC to support these signals?

  • Hi Yauheni,

I've forwarded this to the radio experts. Their feedback should be posted here.

  • Hello,

There are two types of signal clipping in the DFE section.

The CFR block typically has a set of clipping thresholds where the signal the CFR complex filter is scaled to the amount of clipping desired,

and is then subtracted from the input signal.  There is little spectral regrowth for small - medium amounts of clipping in the 4 stages.   The clipping

thresholds are normally set to -4.5, -5.5, -6.5 dbfs.   The CFR clipping filter can be from 63 - 253 taps, it is designed to resemble the signal input BW.

The CFR block has 8 clipping events in each of the 4 stages of CFR.

The other type of signal clipping is a single tap LookUpTable called a Circular Limiter.   The clipping gain is computed for a specific setpoint -6.5dbfs, any input

signal above this magnitude, will result in a 1/G applied that reduces the signal to the setpoint.   This signal clipping has signal regrowth.

The CFR actions are programmed into the DFE base configuration AND through using the RFSDK software, the amount of CFR applied can be varied through real time gain adjustments, and signal monitoring.

There is no single configuration to describe this.   Please consult the DFE User guide on TI website, and the RFSDK radio configurations (can be requested through my secure software) .

  • Hi Joe!

I think that Yauheni is asking about possibility of range compression (matched filtering) inside DFE.

    Yurii
  • Thanks Yurii for attaching to the discussion. Yes, I meant match filtering inside DFE.
Joe, please give the answer with this circumstance.
  • The PFIR filter in the DDUC for Tx and Rx can be changed in the DFE configurations, with third party customization. This is done through Azcom - Italy, or CommAgility - England. The DFE configuration is precompiled with one of 4 PFIR FIR filters.
