66AK2E05: Please explain the difference between EVMK2EX and XEVMK2EX evaluation boards

On the 66AK2E05 Product Folder Tools & software tab, there are two EVMs listed. The descriptions for both are the same, but they differ by the number of X's, which usually means something negative for chips and boards. The EVMK2EX is not available and has status Preview, while the XEVMK2EX is available for purchase. If one has replaced the other, perhaps the Preview one needs to be taken off the website?

    There is only one EVM for K2E platform but for some reason 2 URLs on the ti.com. I would assume XEVMK2EX was created for pre-production version or for preview as you mention but I am not sure about the details.

    I have pointed this out to the marketing team and will let you know when this is fixed.

    Hi Randy,

    The K2E devices initially had a beta version of the evaluation module: XEVMK2EX. This had a pre-production device on the board. We have since transitioned to the production version of the EVM: EVMK2EX, using production silicon. This production EVM is orderable directly or through distribution partners. We are also trying to make this available through the TI store but have to complete some checklist compliance steps before we can enable this.
