Hello,

Can someone contact me directly with information on the following Customer question?

"Can you help us with the CCS 7 licensing? We are looking for a licensing setup for 10 users. Would you provide a quote for that? We also noticed the license model is now called “New licensing model: Technology Software Publicly Available (TSPA)”. What’s is that?

And CCS 6 is free, but is it good enough for TCI6636 development?"

Hi David,
The TCI6636 was released before CCS7 was available. Initial software releases were done with CCS6.

You are saying that they will be able to be able to develop everything for the TCI6636K2H with cc6, which is free?

Hi David,
I am not a software expert so I don't know what was added for CCS7 or how it would aid your development. I'm just pointing out that the initial release on the K2H devices was a couple of years before CCS7. You may want to download CCS6 and try using it before you invest in CCS7. I will see if I can find a software expert to comment on the necessity.

Hi David,

I just spoke with one of the software engineers. He confirmed that the later releases of CCS6 should work fine with K2H but he also pointed out that there is no charge for CCS7 either. I went to the download link and it does include the following statement.

Licensing: CCSv7 is now Technology Software Publicly Available (TSPA) compliant. This means that it does not require a paid license.
