RTOS/66AK2G12: figures concerning the use of TI-RTOS ARM in any commercially available products

Part Number: 66AK2G12
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EVMK2GX

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hello,

Would there be 66AK2G12 specific EVM ? if not , can I confirm that the recommendation is http://www.ti.com/tool/evmk2gx for evaluation?

Does TI have any figures concerning the use of TI-RTOS ARM in any commercially available products, i.e. number of products developed with TI-RTOS ARM, telecoms, aerospace etc?

I will appreciate all the help I can get with answers on these.

Kind Regards

linda

Yes, the K2G EVM is the official reference design with 66AK2Gx devices and it should be used for evaluation.

I am not aware of such figures. The TI RTOS provides an example real-time kernel and a chip support library + some examples for the processor's interfaces. Some customers use the whole rtos and just adapt it for their use cse, some use just the chip support library (which is basically a set of low level drivers for the processor) and develop their own kernel & applications and some develop a bare metal code for initializing & utilizing just the parts of the SoC they need.

  • Could I just 100% verify that the development kit http://www.ti.com/tool/evmk2gx has the K2G12 part installed and running full speed?

Customer needs this specific device for development, before they have full target hardware. THe 600Mhz part would limit our DSP efforts, hence we need to be certain.

  • Hi,

Yes, that is what the EVMK2GX product page states:
    Features
    66AK2G12 C66x DSP+ARM A15 Processor at 1GHz
    2-GByte DDR3L with ECC
    TPS65911A PMIC

I am looping the design team to confirm.

  • Hi,
I can confirm that the EVMK2GX does include the 66AK2G12 running at 1GHz. The EVMK2G is configured for 600MHz.
