TMS320C6678: security option on 6678

Part Number: TMS320C6678

hello

recently we got interested in "secure boot" option. we know that some of TI ARM family supports "secure boot" option. we also know that K2H family of 66 series support "secure boot". what we are interested in is about 6678.

does 6678 support "secure boot" or not?

if not, why there is "6678 secure device" and why it has ROM-secured mode ?

what are features that "6678 secure" supports?

if 6678 support "secure boot" why it isn't mentioned on any feature of device (in contrast to ARM families) ?

another question is about c55xx series, it seems bunch of c55xx family supports "boot secure" mode, how comes that c66xx series won't support it?

thank in advance

  • Hi,

I've notified the sw team. They will post their feedback directly here.

  • Secure boot and secure storage is not supported on the C6678 or any other devices in the Keystone I device family.

We currently support secure boot only on K2H and K2E devices which are part of the Keystone II family.

Note: You may want to explore a solution with an external chip managing the secure boot in your system wherein it authenticates the boot image and establishes a root of trust before getting the C6678 out of reset.

    Thank you.
