DM365 video input for picture in picture

We are considering to add a webcam to DM365 and want to support picture in picture.

I know that DM365 can support picture in picture.

But I am wondering the possibility of taking webcam as an input, could you please help to answer the questions below?

  1. Can we use USB port as web camera video input, rather than the two video front ends?
  2. If not, is it possible to connect USB camera to DM365 video front end and let the DM365 internal hardware process the input?
  3. What kind of CPU burden would be if using software to process the web camera video?
  4. If SW video processing is possible, how can we control the video frame rate?
  • On the first point, video can indeed be input via the USB port, but note that the bandwidth will be low.  If I recall correctly, it will be <<100Mbps (theoretical max is 480Mbps), so it would not work for raw video.

    Thanks

  • Hello,

can you please tell us what are the video processing and tasks that you will run on DM368?

PLease let us know more on the requriements like usecase, data rate etc and then, we can suggest on this

For VPFE IPIPE, this can run thru the YUV input as well as bayer data, and resize to the resolution needed

    Regards,

    Raghu
