DM385/DM388 3 Mega-Pixel Encoder giving wrong frame.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DM388, DM385, DRV8838

Here we are using DM388 soc in 3 Mega-pixel mode. It is observed that in 3 Mega-Pixel Stream at initial stage (Boot -up) giving wrong frame, same thind is also observed randomly in between.

This wrong frame does not contain H.264 frame header as "00,00,00,01" first 4 byte.

Here we are having 3 stream configuration as follow:

1. 3MP@25 fps

2. D1@25 fps

    The size required for boxcar is based on the mode of operation, which is configured by IPIPE_BOX_SHF[0] SEL bit in IPIPE registers. It can either be 8x8 or 16x16. Buffer size requirements for one buffer are as follows :
    8x8 : raw_width / 8 * raw_height /8 * 2 bytes
    16x16 : raw_width/16 * raw_width/16 * 2 bytes

    In the above mentioned case, because of & 0xffff1000, buffer size is less than boxcar requirements.
    In this case, boxcar data corrupts the next buffer. Since we are seeing a corruption in encoder buffer, it looks like encoder buffer is allocated after boxcar memory. This can be confirmed by defining UTILS_MEM_DEBUG macro in files ipnc_mcfw/mcfw/src_bios6/utils/src/utils_mem.c and ipnc_mcfw/mcfw/src_bios6/utils/src/utils_ringbuffer.c. Enabling the macro prints the buffer addresses that are allocated.
