Hi,
we are starting with a new camera interface design having 5 HD(1080p@30fps) cameras. The video recording from these 5 HD cameras have to be saved to a Micro SD card/USB drive.
I have gone through the reference design DM8168DVR-UD1, but that reference design supports 16-ch video at a resolution of 720x480.
We can purchase the DM8168DVR-UD1 reference design if it is feasible for changing the source codes to suit HD cameras.
With respect to the DM8168DVR-UD1, i have the following clarifications to be answered:
1. In the reference design, TVP5158 is used to interface Analog camera. Our requirement is to use a higher resolution (1080p@30fps) based digital cameras directly to DM8168. How much effort is required in replacing the analog camera based interfaces to 1080p@30fps resolution digital cameras by using the same reference design source codes?
2. if 5 cameras have the video resolution as 1080p@30fps, can all the 5 channel video saved to micro SD card/USB? Does the reference design has the capability of saving videos to SD/USB? How much efforts are required in order to modify the available reference design source codes to suit saving of 5 channel video to SD card/USB?
3. Does the ARM processor available inside the DM8168 processor available for General purpose applications or is it dedicated to Video processing applications?
4. Can i get a local support contact number/email id in India who can assist for our design?
Please answer..
regards,
Nagendra
