TMS320DM355 Functional Failed Issue (GIO_14 get lower output voltage, 1.34V than expected, 3V)

Hi all,

Did you guys meet a problem with those GIO pin, it didn't get high voltage as expected by sending a command to activate? It will be used as an enable pin.

1. Are all failing devices have GIO_14 outputting 1.34V instead of 3V?

2. Is only GIO_14 pin outputting 1.34V OR some other GIO pins are also outputting same 1.34V?

-Yes. Is around 1. something V instead of 3V. 1.34V was taken from 1 of the failure unit.

2. Is only GIO_14 pin outputting 1.34V OR some other GIO pins are also outputting same 1.34V?

-Only GIO_14 pin outputting 1.something V. Although some other GIO pins is sending with same command, there is no any failure symptom.

-Yes.

4. Are all devices with $4C-39A802W lot code passes?
-Yes.

Actually we did send for FA through TI in Singapore. ATE test done and result is pass. Hence, TI advise us to look into application and ask for help from TI expert in e2e forum.

With reference to internal discussion about GIO_14 pin testing by production team on some of the returned devices, GIO_14 pin did pass production test where it is checked for output voltage level of 2.4V. In your application GIO_14 pin is used as GIO or I2C_SCL?

GIO_14 pin is used as GIO. 

May I know production test which checked for output voltage 2.4V is standard test specification? Customer is used to trigger up to 3.0V. Will it cause any issue?

Hi,

Triggering at 3.0V should not be issue. It is just production test for this pin is testing upto 2.4V. I need to get back to you by this Friday on the next actions for this issue.

The next action is debugging on customer board. FAE needs to probe the signal on customer board and provide some oscilloscope screen shots. Below are the conditions:

1. Plugging power to the board.

2. After configuring the GIO_14.

I am trying to figure out the FAE team member who can help with this debug. I will get back on this.
