network streaming and recording on DM368 platform

Hi all,

We are currently working on a project which has following requirements to meet:

  • Capture raw video from HDMI of 1920x1200 resolution @ 30 fps
  • Stream the video with h.264 encoding over Network (UDP/RTP) of 1920x1200 resolution @ 10 fps
  • Store the video with h.264 encoding on local storage (SD card/USB)  in .mp4 file with 1920x1200 resolution @ 10 fps
  • Timestamp watermarking on streamed as well as stored videos

Currently we are using Z3 technology's Z3-DM368-VI-RPS kit for proof of concept.

The kit has 256 MB of RAM and 128 MB of on-board NAND flash.

Is it possible to implement above listed requirements with DM368 platform ?

biggest concern is that streaming and recording should be run simultaneously. Is it possible on  DM368 platform ?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Dhrumil,

According to the TMS320DM388 feature description it is capable to capture and processing 1080p 30fps H.264 video but I can not confirm for 1920x1200 resolution. About memory resources sufficiency it strongly depends on the OS and high level software which running on the system.
