DM388: Incomplete software IPNC_RDK_EVM-3.8.1-Linux-x86-Install.bin

Hi all,

I have downloaded the software package IPNC_RDK_EVM-3.8.1-Linux-x86-Install.bin for the evaluation board for the DM388 but when trying to extract the file I am getting an error message saying incomplete file.

I have tried on Linux by going on terminal and typing "sudo su" and then dragging the file on the terminal after making it executable and on Windows I have tried with Magic ISO but both won't work. I have also downloaded the files multiple times.

I would be grateful if someone could advise on the situation.

    Hi Devashish,

    This is bin file, so this should be installed, not extracted. Please execute the below steps.

    -rwxr-xr-x 1 pbotev mmsol 2530550244 Jan  6 08:48 IPNC_RDK_EVM-3.8.1-Linux-x86-Install.bin

    pbotev@mms-0306:~/DM385$ ./IPNC_RDK_EVM-3.8.1-Linux-x86-Install.bin

    You should have as result folder ipnc_rdk-3.8.1

    pbotev@mms-0306:~/DM385/ipnc_rdk-3.8.1$ ls
    GUI_VideoPlayer_SDK_V2.2.0.0.exe  ipnc_rdk_3_8_1_src                   IPNC_RDK_Installation_Guide_v3.8.1.pdf  IPNC_RDK_V3.8.1.tar.gz

    Thanks for your help. I did as you told and I got the following;

    Linux error message for EVM software installation

    divyesh@divyesh-Lenovo-ideapad-510-15ISK ~/Desktop $ ./IPNC_RDK_EVM-3.8.1-Linux-x86-Install.bin

    Installer payload initialization failed. This is likely due to an incomplete or corrupt downloaded file.

    I have downloaded the software couple of times but I still get the same error message. 

    The software size is 2,506,018,648 bytes if it matters. 

    Is there a problem with the software itself?

    The file size at my side is 2,530,550,244 bytes. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 x64 OS. By some reason you can not download the full sized file. What OS you are using? Can you try with other host machine?

    I am using Linux mint 18 Sarah. I have also tried downloading from a windows 10 host machine and transferred the file to the Linux but same end result. Is there a possibility of downloading from another source to see if it works?

    I am not aware with other download source for the DM38x bin.

    I do not think Linux mint 18 Sarah is supported. I would suggest you to try with Ubuntu or with Windows and use VirtualBox or VMware to get a virtual Ubuntu Linux machine. See the below wiki pages for more info:
