I have previously created products with MSP430. I am new to video processing. I am working on a new design that needs to compress video from two camera sources. Each camera source is composite video. I can convert these to BT.656 if needed before processing with TI processor.
I need to store these two video streams along with an audio stream from a microphone to an SD Card. I would like to be able to compress the video and audio to minimize file size. Video resolution is not too important. VGA resolution or 720P is fine.
If needed, I can store each compressed video stream to a separate SD Card. At a later time, I want to be able to retrieve the video and audio stream over a USB port (preferably high speed).
I'm looking for advice on the best processor to use for my application. My application is cost sensitive and it is battery operated, so low power is important.
