ello, I want to about software installation. I can download IPNC RDK software which is suitable on linux OS but when i download file it is in ".bin" . How can i install that? when i download that file, i get corrupted file. please give me a solution

Which version of the RDK software you are trying to use?

There should be a user guide available in your release with details of build and run.

I was installed that file now I can get a new issue. If I will power on CSK board, then after some time DM388 is too much heating. So can you tell me it is always or something else about heating problem.

Which use case you are running ? If you are running complete streaming usecase for long time processor is busy and hence you will see heating issue. If you see the design of CSK, there is no heat sink in the design. However on custom board you can plan to have one.

I am just switching On power supply and keep it around 5min, but when am looking dm388 it's very hot. I have a plan to use heat sink, but how can I insert there on board?
Case: just starting without any case testing.

Hi Prahant,

I know it is not great idea, but we purchased a small fan for this. I could run demo for more than day without much issue though board was heating. Also there are few pastable heat sink materials available to help In this case. !

Ok. How can I diagnose that board because in that pdf CCS is required and how can I get there "DM388 diagnostic project"? Which is import file. Really, I don't know that.
Can you help me to solve this topic.

Hello Prashant,

Did you download the IPNC 3.9 software successfully?

After downloading the bin, please ruin from the command line as ./<package>.bin and accept the licence terms. After this step, it will create a directory in your installation path and places rdk software (zip) and documents in the installation path.

Please refer the documents for further details on install and software build.

Once you are done with download and install , you can refer to user guide provide in RDK to build it or refer this wiki

But that bin file installed only in Linux OS. That procedure for Linux based PC, but when I purchase the kit there is also one manual which is a windows base procedure. So I was referring that file, and it is given on the site. So in that file written you can create a "target files" in ccs software, but there is no given "how can I download that target file in DM388?"
One more problem is there if I want sw1 in off mode, then it wants to go into NAND mode, but if I put a switch "SW1" in off or ON mode it always go into the MMC mode! So can you tell me what is a solution for this type of problem?

Though I didn't understand your question completely, I will try to re frame it and answer. Please find my reply inline.

I am not aware of any such document. Can you share it with me? You can send it to my email Id. I can have a look and provide right inputs. based on your question, I guess you are talking about the flashing a bin or simple CCS project on to CSK. Please note that we don't have any ready to use procedure for downloading complete firmware on CSK (though it is possible). I suggest using Linux Host.

. NAND/SD boot mode can be selected by the switch but SD gets priority over NAND. Are you refereeing to this feature as a issue? This is the known & expected behavior of CSK

Please refer this wiki guide http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/IPNC_RDK_DM38x_,_DM8127 "Boot from SD" section for more details. Also, please refer DM38x TRM for boot mode priority.

HI Prashant,

In the document which you have shared, there is no such procedures to flash from CCS. This is a QSG which explains how to run the demo outof box.

So, please provide reference to the correct document. You can email me @hvravikiran@gmail.com

in this Zip file, we get the test procedure documentation file and that file we referring.

I could download the zip and checl the docs, but there is no such docs which explains the CCS based procedure you are referring to.

Hello Sir,
Can you download above link Zip file? which provided by TI. When you download that file you get zip file and after that you extract it. zip file name is "Spru247". In that folder, you get "Documentation folder" then open that and go in the "Test procedure folder ". You get the one-word file and open it. Then go to the page number of "30th out of 43". There is CCS process which is a topic number of that File 7.1.
There is written, "Import CCS project". But where is CCS Project file we don't know? Then point number 13, there is written RUN-> Load-> Load Program, but where we want to load? it means we download the program in ARM?
please help me to understand that file. :)

As per my recent inquiry with the module owner, there is no CCS project release for CSK's. At this point it is not clear whether there are any plan for the release. I am waiting for input.

so may I continue with this test procedure or continue with Linux procedure?
one more problem I was faced when I am connected Debug cable then debugging light glow for some time. After few second it is "off". I think it is problem with the driver but I installed USB driver ("XDS Emulation software package ") also. but it is not solved. That problem is creating a new problem. I will not process of "Application running process" in Linux base procedure.

I got this file but there is some problem. I run that file one time they proceed but the second time I got a lot of problems.
1. Error 151: FTDI Driver missing, XDS 100 link so many.
2. when I load the program in cortex A8 then we got an error of resistors.
3. On "Tera term" serial monitor we get nothing. all process is done which is given in test procedure file.
4. when I pressed the warm reset button after loading a program, I get an Arago project working on Tera term which not expects or not given in that file.

I know, I am expecting so much from you but am a beginner in this working so I hope you help me to solve this errors.

Hi Prashant,

Above error could be due to driver installed on Windows machine.

Other users are able to use this without any issues. Please check this e2e.ti.com/.../590041
