Linux/DM388: DM388 Processor Board customization

I installed IPNC-RDK software package in my Linux. I gone through the documents, Under Boot Setup for Custom Build Section.. found I can make changes in Rules.make , dm38x_csk.cfg, and dm38x_csk_sd_defconfig. With these I don't think I can make all customization required. Can I make changes in the source code available to fit the purpose? If so can you specify the path to find those files.

In your usecase file you need to set the following:

pCameraInstPrm->vipInstId = SYSTEM_CAPTURE_INST_VIP0_PORTA

pCameraInstPrm->vipInstId = SYSTEM_CAPTURE_INST_VIP0_PORTB

this may not be the full explanation but just a starting point to debug

which usecase are you running ?

For my application... I'm removing camera inputs and latching external video inputs. So I believe I must make changes in mcfw folder.

You can pass in the bootargs the ip required.

As dwarkesh mentioned you can static IP from bootargs , However to run usecase with static IP these are below steps you have to follow.

1) echo "static" > /opt/ipnc/ip_config , your good to go with static IP that will be set is 192.168.1.224

2) To modify static IP you have to connect USB to the board and Ubuntu , then you would find new mount partition on ubuntu that would contain exe .

3) Run exe under wine to modify static IP ,  attached is screen shot for the same.

I'm not clear in setting the static IP.
TMDSCSK388-CSKCC kit was connected to a network with a DHCP server. So when I boot the board I use to get IPs assigned by the DHCP like 192.168.1.5, 192.168.1.7, etc.
While booting I entered the U-boot
(DM38x-CSK#), here I entered the following command;

DM38x-CSK# setenv bootargs root=/dev/nfs rw nfsroot=$(serverip):$(rootpath) ip=$(ipaddr):$(serverip):$(gatewayip):$(netmask):$(hostname)::off

Then I initiated
DM38x-CSK#boot

I obtained an IP address 192.168.1.224, good enough..i got IP assigned without DHCP server.

But I want to use more number of same devices in the single network. How can i set different IPs? Can I use some commands like i mentioned above?

Hi Nithin,

You can do the same in each Board. Make sure netmask and gateway are same and IP is different and not conflicting.

I assumed all other devices in the Network to be DM38x TI Board. If so you can use the same bootargs field. Are all devices same one ?

I tried by connecting USB to ubuntu. But even after I changed the IP Address in USB Configuration to Different values and applied, on boot up the streaming links are still with the same 192.168.1.224. It has not changed to the value I gave.

I hope you have done , apply , exit and safe removal

This process is to be done after I get IP address either from DHCP or 192.168.1.224 ??
Will the the IP I set be saved even after power off?
