HI ,
I upgraded to DVSDK_4.03 04_03_00_06 from DVSDK_4.02 4_02_00_06, as the support for wireless drivers is better in the new one. Though the wireless radio/drivers are working smoothly. However, now neither Matrix-gui-e app is working (I mean nothing appears on the LCD screen) nor the DMAI apps are working. E.g. loopback app of displaying composite video input on LCD. These applications work fine when I boot the EVM with the SD card with older DVSDK. Below is screen capture from Tera Term (with new DVSDK)
I also downgraded the ARM Frequency to 600MHz as noted in the post: http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/davinci_digital_media_processors/f/537/t/160628.aspx. However no effect.
Also, below is the trace from my EVM ( Mistral REV-G ).

Hi,
I tried another DMAI apps, this time without copying and it worked. However, the image quality is bad and is rotated by 90 degrees (as opposed to old version DVSDK_4.02 4_02_00_06)

The problem of matrix-gui-e application not working is solved by creating a symbolic link as follows (in the target file systems)
root@dm37x-evm:~# cd /usr/libroot@dm37x-evm:~# ln -s libTICPUBLT_BX.so libTICPUBLT_BX.so.1.0root@dm37x-evm:~# /etc/init.d/matrix-gui-e start
Now the application starts but with the screen rotated by 180 degrees as compared to previous DVSDK version DVSDK_4.02 4_02_00_06. This problem can easily be fixed replacing 90--> 270 in the /etc/init.d/matrix-gui-e
The above works irrespective of ARM Frequency. So, I switched back to default frequency of 1GHz
However, the DMAI apps of loopback video is still rotated with bad quality whereas for resize app, I get the error as
-------------

I believe the issue is with the "timings" setting for display...
1. I enabled the DMAI debug mode by typing the following:
root@dm37x-evm:/usr/share/ti/ti-dmai-apps# export DMAI_DEBUG=1
2. Then I restarted the DMAI loopback application:

Also, even if I try to set the values (from old DVSDK) nothing happens
root@dm37x-evm:/sys/devices/platform/omapdss/display0# chmod 755 timingsroot@dm37x-evm:/sys/devices/platform/omapdss/display0# echo "19200,480/1/28/2,640/1/1/1" > timingsroot@dm37x-evm:/sys/devices/platform/omapdss/display0# cat timings cat: read error: No such file or directory
Looks like there is a read/write lock for this file
4. Then I checked the frame buffer settings:
root@dm37x-evm:/usr/share/ti/ti-dmai-apps# fbsetmode "480x640" geometry 480 640 480 1920 16 timings 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 rgba 5/11,6/5,5/0,0/0endmode
Again here all timing values are 0. this is opposed to what you see with the old version DVSDK_4.02 4_02_00_06 where the result is:
mode "480x640-58" # D: 19.200 MHz, H: 37.574 kHz, V: 58.435 Hz geometry 480 640 480 1920 16 timings 52083 1 28 1 1 2 1 rgba 5/11,6/5,5/0,0/0endmode
Now even if I do the following:
root@dm37x-evm:/sys/devices/platform/omapdss/display0# fbset -t 52083 1 28 1 1 2 1root@dm37x-evm:/sys/devices/platform/omapdss/display0# fbset mode "480x640" geometry 480 640 480 1920 16 timings 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 rgba 5/11,6/5,5/0,0/0endmode
There is no change.
So, please let me know how I can fix these issues.
Vivek,
For your ARM speed setting problem you are still setting mpurate=1000 in the bootargs. You can edit them in the bin/mksdboot.sh script that builds the bootargs.
Iain
Hi Iain,
Thanks for the reply. I corrected the bootargs setting in setup-uboot... shell script and switched to 600MHz. Also, regarding the 'timings' issue, one can apply the following patch:
http://arago-project.org/git/people/?p=brijesh/arago-dvsdk.git;a=blob;f=recipes/linux/linux-omap3-2.6.37-psp04.02.00.07.sdk/omap3/sharp-lcd-set-get-timing.patch;h=e8330321336e3bb353bad2a1a09fe4ff0ecb5613;hb=78cae8b2ef5fbf2eaf9f5454438fd736fb229341
However, my problem was still there. The video quality is still bad and very dark. To me the problems seems to be that tvp514x decoder is not working at all. Please refer the boot logs:

Because of the above, gstreamer with v4l2src is not working too. How can I get rid of the above the error in boot logs and ensure that tvp514x decoder is working correctly?
