DM3730 dual CSI camera support

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DM3730

Does DM3730 has support for Dual CSI camera?

  • Moving this to the DM37X forum.

  • Hi Senthilkumaran,

The DM3730 camera ISP supports one parallel interface (CPI) and two serial interfaces: MIPI® CSI1 and one MIPI CSI2 interface, that can be active simultaneously. But there is a limitation, only one of these interfaces can use the video-processing hardware, when it is not used by the parallel interface. Because of a pin-muxing limitation, the parallel interface and CSI1 (CSIb) cannot be active at the same time.

  • Hi Tsvetolin Shulev,

    Thanks for the inputs..!!

We are planning to have two CSI camera simultaneously. We don't have plan to add parallel camera.
In such case we will make a note that, at given instance only one CSI port can access the Video processing hardware. Other camera data needs to be dumped in the memory.

We would like to know, whether the TI camera driver support is available for accessing two CSI cameras simultaneously (one through Video processing and other directly mapped to memory)?. This information will be helpful for us to proceed further.

  • Hi Senthilkumaran,

The TI camera driver supports work of two CSI cameras simultaneously with clarification that the one camera using video processing and the other directly mapped to the memory.
