DM3730: Is it possible to use DDR2 memory?

Hi,

I need some help with DRAM memory for the DM3730CUS processor. I would like to know if the DM3730CUS can use DDR2 Memory? The reason is that DDR1 memory in 4Gb x 32 is pretty hard to find if at all, and DDR1 is a fading fast.

If DDR2 is acceptable, are there any unique design consideration we need to take into account?

Hi Ryan,

The LPDDR interface of DM3730 has been designed for compatibility any LPDDR device with a matching footprint and compliance with the JEDEC LPDDR-266 specification clocked up to 200 MHz. But DDR2 memories are not officially supported. You can find more detail about supported memories and available vendors in the Memory vendor selection guide at:

Okay thank you for the response. Just to be sure, although the datasheet does not state LPDDR2 support, as long as we can satisfy all these requirements, the DM3730 will be compatible the memory?
