Linux/DM3730: DM3730 NAND ECC ISSUE

Hi Everyone,

I am using DM3730 Processor and trying to boot it from MT29F8G08ABBCAH4C NAND flash.

This NAND Flash do not have 1b ECC support. Can I use it to boot from NAND flash??

Arun,

The best choice of NAND flash is if it has ECC support but an other opportunity is software ECC algorithm in your case for example. Yes, you can use NAND flash without support of 1b ECC. You can read about software ECC in the lined below resource:

Hi Tsvetolin,

But DM3730 ROM CODE only supports 1b ecc. Can we acheive this using sw ecc?

Can we avaoid Booting problem by doing SW ECC?
