v4l2 capture has stability issue with high frame rate?
In the following link, there is disucssion regarding gstreamer v4l2 capture has stability issues when DDR is heavily loaded.
Right now, I guess I am facing the same issue. When capturing 1080p video data, the best frame rate I got is 15 Hz.
However, capuring at 60hz is quite important for us, as we are going to support 3D data.
Just wondering is any update regarding this stability issue?
To get stable v4l2 capture, please download the latest EZSDK -
and apply the attached patches 5633.v4l2_patches.zipon the linux kernel that is part of the EZSDK before building it.
Thanks for your notice on this matter.
I will try your patches and will let you know how it goes.
I tried the patches but got no luck to make it work.
Could you please take it look of folowing thread? I copy the error messages there.
Hi, Prashant.Regarding those patches, i think i found one bug. In the file board-ti8148evm.c function "int vps_ti814x_set_tvp7002_filter(enum fvid2_standard standard)" should return zero for non-negative return value of i2c_transfer call as for the 8168 devices.Without this function vidioc_query_dv_preset in the file ti81xxvin_main.c fails with those patches.Best Regards,Alexander Vasiljev.
Did you try the patches? Can you right now capture 1080p@60?
I tried but after applying patches none of my gstreamer pipeline having v4l2src works.
I have applied these patches and i can capture video stream. But i use only 720p.
And i don't use gstreamer as of now, but slightly modified saLoopBackFbdev.
Thanks for your info very much.
I noticed for the low resolution, the capture seems okay.
I am running another thread here, and if you also meet any similar problems regarding v4l2 capture, you are very much welcome to join in the discussion
