CPSW issue on DM8148 SOC - ethernet hangs when ifup/ifdown with ping traffic

Hello everyone,

one of our customer is experiencing a problem with the CPSW in our SOM based on your DM8148 SOC (http://www.dave.eu/products/som/texas_instruments/dm814x_dido):  eth0 interface hangs when running ifup/ifdown cycles with active ping traffic.

The issue is the same described in http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Sitara_SDK_6.00.00_Release_Notes as BUG_ID "ARM_MPU_SDK.BTS_KERNEL.79 (SDOCM00094019 in the PSP kernel" and referred to in these posts on e2e forum:

Since the CPSW is the same in both the AM335x and the DM814x, is it reasonable that this issue affects the Linux kernel for the DM8148 as well (we are running the 2.6.37 kernel from EZSDK 5.05.02.00)? Is there any patch/fix available?

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

Piero Pezzin
