Hello,
I am doing de-interlacing with HDVPSS present in IPNC RDK 3.8 having HDVPSS version HDVPSS_01_00_01_37.
I have a custom DM385 board which captures from CSI2 interface and a media pipeline created with MCFW. My input can be either progressive or interlaced. If I am getting interlaced input, I will give this data to deiLink for de-interlacing. It is working properly.
My input is captured from HDMI. Sometimes my input can be of film mode ( 3:2 pull down or 2:2 pull down, these are different methods used in film camera to convert from 1080p24). How do we detect if the interlaced input is either 3:2 pull-down or 2:2 pull-down ?
I have gone through the TRM and found that HDVPSS supports an interrupt which triggers when film mode input is provided.
I couldn't find-out anything in the hdvpss code regarding this. So I have few doubts regarding film mode de-interlacing in HDVPSS.
1. Is it possible to detect 3:2 pull down and 2:2 pull down input in HDVPSS ? If yes, how ?
2. Does it support reverse pull-down to retrieve the actual data ? If yes, how ?
3. Instead of doing proper de-interlacing, can we do stitching of top and bottom field together to get a frame ? or can I turnoff motion interpolated de-interlacing ? (This is required in case of progressive segmented frame where a frame is split into top and bottom field).
Thanks & Regards,
Jithin
