Hi

I think I finally initialized V4L2 Capture driver on my DM816-EVM.

Next thing I want to do is to capture the video from DVI output of the video card(Geforce 7600 GT) of my second PC, and encode it with h264 codec using Gstreamer. The output from the second PC is connected to VIP(Video input VGA port on daughter card). I wanted to see the preview video on my screen first. But when I tried different Gstreamer pipelines, I got some error messages as shown below. Could you explain what would be the reason for this? I am using SD card boot (built from SDK 5.04). I have to finish this by this week. Any your replies would be much appreciated.

The first Gstreamer pipeline is from DM81xx Gstreamer Pipelines ( http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DM81xx_Gstreamer_Pipelines ), and the second pipelines is that I added ffmpegcolorspace to convert from RGB to YUV. What would be the causes of these error messages?

gst_v4l2sink_sync_rotation: assertion ERROR: Pipeline doesn't want to pause.

I am also wondering if this error is due to any incorrect usage of the pipeline codes or if it has to do with something other than pure pipeline itself like Driver issue or something else. Thank you.

    Hi,

Are you trying to use DVI input or Component in. From the logs its seems input resolution is not getting detected. What is the input resolution you are feeding?

    Hi Hardik,

I am feeding DVI output from my graphic card on my PC into Video Input port(VGA) on daughter card. I set the The DVI output resolution is 800 x 600. Is there certain resolution which can be used?

    Hi,

VGA input is not supported. Only Y, Pb and Pr inputs are supported.

    Hi Hardik.

I am quite surprised that you even replied at this time. Thanks a lot. Hardik.

But did you mean by RGB, not VGA? Since VGA is the video input connector on the daughter board. But I think the output from graphic card should be RGB color space. Hmm. If you meant that RGB is not supported as a video input for EVM, I think I should find other video source to be captured.

Oh Wait. Sorry please ignore the above reply. I was confused with YUV.

Oh I thought VGA port on daughter card is video input port that I can use for capturing video.

But now I can understand why it didn't work... Let me try with Y Pb Pr port tomorrow at work, and verify this posting. Thanks a lot Hardik.

    Hi,

Actually TVP7002 decoder can take RGB in as well as YUV in. RGB in is through VGA port, while YUV is through component in. Right now only component in is supported.

    Hi Hardik.

Now it seems working~!! I don't get the same error messages. And I can see like below.

I am not sure what all the messages appeared before "perf0: frames: 63       current: 62.73   average: 62.73 arm-load: 27", but at least it seems doing something.

I will post this as another question. Thanks Hardik~!

    Hi Hardick.

I forgot to ask this question. Does it mean only 1 VIP capturing(through component) is supported for now? Or is there a port other than component that I can use for capturing?
