About ESD-protect for dm8168.

HI,TIer.

As the top subject in this forum:

The ESD CDM Advisory 1.1.36, SERDES Transit Signals Pass ESD-CDM Up To ±150 V, affected to all PGs, not only PG1.0 and 1.1, as shown in our current Silicon Errata.  This update will be in our next Silicon Errata and Data Sheet release.

Do we need to put a esd-diode in the corresponding pin to do a protect?

  • Hi SuitJune,

The latest version of the DM816x silicon errata is SPRZ329F (March 2015) and the advisory number is:

    Advisory 2.1.36 — SERDES Transit Signals Pass ESD-CDM Up To ±150 V

I do not see recommendation (in Silicon Errata) to put esd-diod in the corresponding pins (PCIE_TXNx/Px, SATA_TXNx/Px), neither the DM816x EVM has such.

    Regards,
    Pavel
