Hi,
Thanks Margarita.
We have set the switch(10111) for SD boot then only tried to boot from SD card.But it is not happened.
Even,We verified the SD card boot switch option registers through JTAG in CCS. The register value has set for SD boot value. and also Processor is giving Clock and Command to the SD card as verified through oscilloscope.
Any other way to debug this issue.
Please suggest us.
Thanks,
Bala
Hi Margarita,
Thanks for your suggestions.
First of all,We are working on customized board with DM8168 processor for the SD card booting.
We followed same procedure as you mentioned previously.but still it is not booting from SD card.
and then i didn't get you about NFS boot for uboot or kernal & Filesystem.
But succeeded with NFS booting for Kernel and File System and Uboot from NAND.
We want to achieve Board Booting (UBOOT) from SD card...
Please provide some other ideas to succeed this issue.
Regards,
Bala
Hi,
Thanks for your response.
I want to clarify some the instructions for the sd card booting
- What could be the size of SD card to be used?
- Which Script will be used to make SD card Partition table
- What will be the size assigned for boot partition?
- SD card detect pin is really required for U-boot booting
- Is enough only MLO and U-boot.bin file from Pre-build images folder in SDK for SD card booting. and can we also use these files for Custom board
Please clarify to us.
Thanks,
Bala
Hello,
balasubramanian kanthasamy said:- What could be the size of SD card to be used?
I have used 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB;
balasubramanian kanthasamy said:- Which Script will be used to make SD card Partition table
cd EZSDK(main folder)/bin
sudo ./mksdboot.sh --device /dev/sdX --sdk ${EZSDK}
where sdX you shall check it on my side is sdb;
or you could use this command:
sudo ${EZSDK}/bin/mksdboot.sh --device /dev/sdb --sdk ${EZSDK}

Automatically will be created.
