In a response to a MAC address query in the thread https://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/davinci_digital_media_processors/f/717/t/400648 , it is stated that
“When setting a MAC address please ensure that the LS-bit of the 1st byte is not 1 i.e. when setting the MAC address: y in xy:ab:cd:ef:gh:jk has to be an even number.”
I have a few questions based on the above requirement. They are
- Could you let us know why this is so?
- Are all TI MAC address (present and future) will have the 1st byte as even?
- Will the board not work if an MAC address with odd 1st byte is programmed into MACADDRLO and MACADDRHI registers (RW) in the EMAC Control Registers?
