DMAI Support in DM8168 SDK

Hi,

I am using DM8168 processor with EZSDK version of 5_05_02_00 and my Linux version is linux-2.6.37-psp04.04.00.01.

I want to know whether the SDK supports DMAI (that use xdais at hardware level).

Please suggest and let us give your valuable inputs

Hi Salih,

DMAI is not supported with EZSDK.

You can use RPE framework for DSP codecs. In EZSDK , RPE framework supports audio codecs like aac and mpe running on C674x+ DSP.

Refer rpe_1_00_01_13 in component-sources. This framework is very simple to use and doesn't have dependency on CE, FC etc.

Thanks for your response. Could you please explain me the purpose of using DMAI and RPE?. What is the differnece between DMAI and RPE ?.

If you don't want to use OMX IL APIs to invoke audio/video codecs, then DMAI or RPE is simple framework where your applciation running on ARM remotely invokes codecs running on DSP with BIOS OS
