what's the codec performance for video processors, such DM816x

Can you please explain your requirement? which codec and resolution you are looking for?. DM816x, DM814x, AM57xx can serve your purpose. These processor  supports almost all codecs.

I'd like to get H.264 and H.265 codec's performance with 1920x1080 resolution, i.e. 1080p. Where can I get codec performance information for DM816x, DM814x, AM57xx?


And as I know, TI also has some other processors as shown below:

Is C66x Multicore DSP suitable for video decoding/encoding?

Hi,

For H.265 you have to go for C66x multicore DSP, it has support H264 as well. The other processor(DM816x, DM814x, AM57xx) doesn't support H.265, they support H264, MPEG4, MPEG2, VC1 etc..

Although DM816x, DM814x, AM57xx have been used for several years, I want to know about those performance in term of video decoding/encoding, such as h.264 codec. Could you show me evaluation result about H.264 decoding/encoding for those processors?

Hi,

At high level DM814x can encode or decode 1080p @ 60fps.  on DM816x performance will be even more. to get detailed profile numbers. Please contact TI FAE.
