why there is a packet drop when I enable serial port debugging?

Hi

I am using Integrity RTOS on DM6446 board. I transfer an image via UDP. Image gets transferred. But If I enable printing debug statements via serial port , the image is not transferred, I mean the received image is corrupt. I have no idea of what is happening? Could someone give any hints as to what might result in such behaviour?
