Suggested hardware for analog video processing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP5150AM1

Hi all,

I'm looking to develop a board that wil allow the following:

1. 1/2 PAL/NTSC  inputs

2. ability to implement video processing and motion detection using simple correlation between frames

2. ability to compress the raw frames into jpeg or something similar

3. ability to store data on SD card

4. extra GPIO's and UART/SPI interfaces for connecting with a tranciever devices (Wifi/RF etc)

5. Lowest power possible as the board can also be battery powered in some cases

‌From the research I've done so far I have come to the conclusion that the Davinci platform can fit my requirements. The only thing I don't fully understand is the way that the analog video input is handled.   Some reference designed include an external video decoder (TVP5150am1 and such)  but all the video decoders are NRND and about 10  years old.  So the main question is, can Davinci provide a SoC solution for the above requirements or additional devices are needed? in that case,  what is the recomended  decoder and are there any reference  designs that use davinci for raw video input processing.

‌Also,  what is the recomended Davinci device?

Thank you,

Roman
