      Hello!

I'm looking on http://processors.wiki.ti.com/images/b/bc/OMAP-L138_C6748_LCDK_Ver_A4.pdf schematics. RTC_VSS net seems to be floating. Is everything fine?

I hope it's not the latest release.

      Faisal, All,

Order entry has been opened at the distributors for this board.  As mentioned before, please use the part numbers that I've previously shared.  You can begin placing orders today and look for your board(s) to arrive in early May.

      Best Regards,
      Kanika

See the datasheet for the device for details on how to hook up the RTC and OSC VSS pins when using external crystals. They are shorted to VSS inside the device itself.

      Hi,

      Where is the order entry?

      What is the part number?

      I can not find them.

      Could you tell me clearly?

      Regards

      Hello Yankai,

You can pre-order the board through any Authorized TI Distributor.

      The part numbers are:

TMDXLCDK138  for the board with the OMAPL138 processor.

TMDXLCDK6748 for the board with TMS320C6748 DSP.

Please note that boards will not begin shipping until early May.  Right now, you would simply be placing a pre-order for the board.  If you are having a problem placing the order, please let me know.

      Regards,
      Kanika

what's the postmortem analysis of the hawkboard tell about the root cause of the failure? did the designers follow the datasheet correctly? did the TMDXLCDK138 designers follow the datasheet recommendations and have issues, hence the delays? we're about to start a design and a lack of a TI designed and supported reference design with freely available design files is a big turn-off. who do I look to for support when implementing a TI design, TI or the 3rd party that designed and manufactures the only reference design? why is there a document that explains how to transition from am1808 to the am335x, does the omapl138/am1808 have problems with DDR2 controller hence the problems with the hawkboard and the reason logicpd's designs only use sdram as well as delays in releasing the TI design?

      Phillip,

The designers of the Hawkboard did not follow TI's recommended design rules.  The TMDXLCDK138 does follow the recommended design rules, the delays all surround insuring that the next product is a quality product that mitigates problems that customers have seen with the previous board.  We will have freely available design files released on the LCDK board in the coming weeks.

The document on how to transition exists for customers who are making the move from one platform to the next.  We try to do this for most of our platforms as we release new generation devices.  This does not imply any problems with the previous generation product.

      Regards,
      Kanika

      Phillip -

I can add that we've been using it for quite some time now and have experienced no problems with the OMAPL138.

Thanks. Do you have an ETA for when the reference design files will be available? Are you planning to publish data on the radiated emissions measurements of the reference design?

So, it is almost June, but there is still no design file are available. Has your plans about publishing changed?

      Thank you.

      Alexander,

You can find the schematics for the boards on the Wiki page:  http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/L138/C6748_Development_Kit_(LCDK)

The design files for the new boards on the web pages for the boards:

      C6748 LCDK Board: http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdxlcdk6748

      L138 LCDK Board: http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdxlcdk138

On these pages, there is a section that is titled "Additional Information".  I did notice today that there is a problem accessing the links on the above pages, I have already submitted a request to have this fixed.  This should be accessible before the end of the week.

      Regards,
      Kanika

The first link is missing a closing brace in the page name, it should be:

Below are the page-links & references.
      The references don't work.
But don't worry: hear near me, when the words "OMAP-L138 Development Kit"  are heard,
now everybody says: "questa xe ea storia del sior intento, che dura tanto tempo,
che mai no se destrìga, vuto che tea conta o vuto che tea dìga?" :-)
