RTC_Vss pin connection

Hi,

I’m posting the following requirement related to the RTC_Vss pin connection.

 In datasheet I can see the RTC power module is isolated.

 

And in the Hardware Checklist :

 I can see that RTC_Vss connection to Vss is only mentioned when pin is not used.

Can RTC_Vss be connected to the general VSS or does it have to be connected to a dedicated Vss reference?
