[C6748_LCDK] Demo Problem of the face detection

Hi,

We want to test the face detection demo of the C6748 LCDK.  The CMOS sensor we chose for the experiment is OV9712 (raw data) which was connected to J16 of C6748 LCDK through FPC (24 pins only). Plus, two external lines were connected to the SCL & SDA ( pin29, 30 of J16) for communication.

However, we found CAM_CLK(pin 9 of J16) always stayed high (about 3 V) so that the outer clock (sent out from the sensor-side) could not be fed into the LCDK. In order to solve the issue, we surfed and referred to some related discussions in the forum, so we had removed U27, R141 and also checked the reset status of TVP5147M1 was at high-impedance. Unfortunately, we still got nothing on the screen.

To clarify the problem, we hope someone can give us some advices for how to deal with the problem and answer the follow questions as well:

1. What is the image data receive mode of the C6748_LCDK (HSYNC, HREF or BT.656)?

2. Could anyone share us the completely timing diagram (C6748_LCDK vs CMOS SENSOR - includes HSYNC, VSYNC and PCLK)?

3. Should the frequency of the CAM_CLK be set at 27MHz only?

4. Is the demo code (face detection) ready-to-use? Should we need to change or set anything in advance? If so, which parts of the demo code we need to adjust?

5. Should we use an external oscillator ( we adopted the PCLK of OV9712 (24 MHz) as the oscillator source for CAM_CLK)?

BTW, we could receive raw data of OV9712 successfully by using another embedded platform. So, the sensor module is work.

    The facedetect demo code has been implemented & tested with composite video input signal through J9 connector.

    We have to feed the video i/p signal through J9 (composite) connector and we can get the facedetect data from VGA display.

    You can use composite signal from DVD player composite signal.

    Please try this configuration on LCDK board.
