Compiling MCSDK Mcasp_AudioExampleProject (OMAPL138)

Hello,

I am trying to build the Mcasp_AudioExampleProject of the MCSDK v1.1.0.2(windows) with CCS v6.0.1.4, but I get a lot of errors, such as:

Is this version of MCSDK compatible with CCSv6? I have installed sys/bios v6.35.01.29 and xdctools_3.25.0.48 as required, but there is a problem with recognizing them.

In the attachment you can see the files I have included in CCS, so far. Are there any others to include?

Is there an explicit guide on how to use and work with MCSDK?

Yes, it will work with CCSv6 too.

Disable RTOS package and use SYSBIOS version.

Attach the screen shot of error.

In general, the McASP sample application demonstrates the use of the MCASP driver for audio playback. The

MCASP driver supports only DMA mode of operation and the application uses the MCASP LLD to program the AIC codec on the OMPAL138 LCDK board to receive and play audio input

Hello,

thank you for your quick replies. I have managed to get rid of the previous errors, by disabling the RTOS package as Titus S. advised me.

Unfortunately, other errors occurred. You can see them in the snapshot below. I have included the csl library in the Include Options of the project, but the linker does not recognize those variables.

Hello,

I have managed to solve the problems that I had before and now I am able to debug the AudioExample program. The thing is, I don't hear anything if I put to the Line In a .mp3 sound. As far as I read in other posts from other people who had similar problems, the ARM might hold the DSP in reset, therefore first I have to connect the ARM and then the DSP.

Where do I find a pin map or something to see which JTAG corresponds to the ARM and which one to the DSP processor?

I am using a Zoom™ OMAP-L138 eXperimenter Kit.

I would very much appreciate if you could help me.

Hi Laura,

Thanks for your update.

First you run any ARM based example project which would take DSP out of reset and then try your actual McASP audio example project, sothat, it will run as expected since OMAPL138 is a ARM boot device meaning, ARM boots first and then it will wake up the DSP out of reset.
