Hi,
Thanks for your post.
To understand SPI operations, please refer sections 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10 from the OMAPL13x SPI user guide below:
http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sprufm4i/sprufm4i.pdf
Also, to know the SPI initialization procedure on OMAPL13x, kindly refer section 2.19 from the above user guide.
To boot OMAPL137 EVM from SPI0 flash, please refer the below E2E post:
http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/omap_applications_processors/f/42/t/207690
Are you using BIOS PSP examples? If yes, tell the driver to use spi0, you can go to the tcf file and change the device ID of the driver from 1 to 0, for more details, please check the below post:
http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/omap_applications_processors/f/42/t/29540
To boot SYSBIOS application from OMAPL137, it would be better to refer the E2E post below:

What software are you using ?
Linux or any bare code.
We have CSL package example code for OMAPL137.
OMAPL1x\rCSL_examples\evmOMAPL137
quickStartOMAPL1x_rCSL\OMAPL1x\support\includes\ti\pspiom\cslr\cslr_spi.h
Unfortunately we don't have a SPI code for OMAPL137 but you can write it for OMAPL137.
Also you can get some SPI test code from spectrum digital inc website.
