C6748 can not boot from nand flash

I use the nand flash driver in the starterware to write my ais application to nand flash,but it can not boot .

I sure that I have set the boot mode as nand flash boot ,and my image is ais format.

I set the BOOT[7:0] as 0x00001110 and write my image to nand flash block 1.

please help me!thank you very much.

Hi Jianming,

I have done same experiment on my end and was able to boot.

The procedure which i followed is-

1. I Build a DSP starterware example code for gpio and converted .out to .bin using out2proc tool.
2. I build ARM bootloader from starterware package itself and given dspentrypoint by referring gpio project map file.
3. Used AISGEN utility and selected datawidth as 16-bit and changed boot.out to boot.ais
4. And flashed it using sfh utility.
Remember at the time of flashing boot pins should be in UART Boot Mode i.e SW1[Pins 1-8](01010000)
After flashing change boot pins to NAND Flash and reset the board.

Please follow same procedure and let me know.

What is your AISGEN config? If you executing in DRAM, does your AISGEN config the DRAM? Confirm the NAND data width, 8 or 16 bit.

When you say flash block 1, is that counting from 0 or 1? Is that the first block?

My CPU is C6742,it don't have ARM core.I flash my application to nandflash without ubl.

My AISGEN configuration is as follows:

My CPU is C6742,nandflash is 25p40.

I flash my image to the nand's second block!

But the system can't boot up,please help me , thank you very much!

Please confirm your device? Is it C6748 or C6742.
Also is it Custom or EVM ?

My CPU is C6742,nandflash is 25p40.

As you have said you are using nandflash, but part number 25P40 says it seems SPI Flash, Please confirm.

I'm using a C6748 wih the LCDK development kit. I've successfully booted from NAND Flash using the nand writer project, but it's not the case using the starterware application.

Also please elaborate the procedure which you are following for flashing so that i can understand where you might be missing.
