I have restarted my system twice after install the CCS V6. But, still am unable to fix this issue. When, i select ARM9 core i will be able to see the compiler list in the drop down box and also i will be able to create the sample project. But, when i select C67xx core then i will not be able to see the compiler list in the drop down box and i will be not be able to create a sample project. Because that particularly page pops up which i had sent in my earlier conversation.


I would like to work only on the DSP core. so, that is the reason why am selecting C67xx core.
So, please let me know how do i fix this issue??
Do i need to install any other softwares to work on DSP core??

What toolchain want to make it as visible to CCS compiler ?
ARM or DSP ?

Your screen shot seems to be ARM toolchain, so it won't be visible for DSP application (projects)

For DSP,
you can give the following location and it would be visible when you create DSP application through CCS.
C:\ti\ccsv5\tools\compiler\c6000_7.4.4

For ARM,
you can give the following location and it would be visible when you create ARM application through CCS.
C:\ti\ccsv5\tools\compiler\arm_5.1.1

I want my DSP tool chain visible to the CCS compiler. But, when in the discovered tools. Am unable to find the DSP core and only ARM9 core is visible with the path.So, how do i add the DSP core in the discovered tools.??Also, am using CCSV6.

From your screen shot, you have given just the base location of compiler and not exact location.

You have to add the following location.

Ex:

C:\ti_ccsv6\ccsv6\tools\compiler\c6000_7.4.12

I will follow your instructions. But, why is that DSP core(C6747) not visible on the Discovered tools?? Only ARM core is visible on the Discovered tools!

That tool chain is not only for C6747 but for all C6000 devices.

Hi Titus,
As per your instructions i have given exact location of the compiler. I have done 3 steps .. Please let me know if am wrong in any one of the step.

Step 1: Added the exact location of the compiler.
Step 2 : Then clicked on the Apply icon.
Step 3: Pressed the ok icon.

After that i closed the CCS IDE and then restarted the system.

Even then am not able to see the DSP core in the discovered tools box and page 1 pops up. Because of this Page 2 pops up and unable to create project using DSP core.Could you please let me know what exactly is the reason for it?

Page 1 says DSP core is not available in the discovered tools.
Page 2 says no compiler is available.

How do i fix this issue??

Have you refreshed the tools with option "Refresh" ?

I have done that multiple times. Some progress bar pops up for 1 to 2 secs and it vanishes!

Tat's fine. I have installed CCS V6 from TI website.I think i have enabled C6000 single and multicore processors option. But, am not sure.The reason for enabling single and multicore is because of my OMAPL137 dual core controller(ARM9 + C6747). Please do let me know how do i solve this issue.

Can you provide the screen shot of your desktop path "C:\ti\ccsv6\tools\compiler" like the following.

Need to check what are all the compilers you have installed.

One more thing, we can also install the DSP (cl6x) tool chain on any where and need to provide the location to CCS to find the compiler.

Also, can i simluate the results on the IDE itself??.Also, kindly let me know the step involved for simulation. Since i don't have target board.

Also, i have planned to generate a sine wave by writing a small piece of code. Can i see the sine wave with the help of graph on CCS IDE?? If yes, kinldy let me know the steps

Simulator supports only on CCSv5.5 and earlier version and not with CCSv6.x.

C6748 or C6747 ?

Yes, you can find the examples for OMAPL137 and OMAPL138 (also C6747 and C6748) from this QuickCSL package.
