L138: end-of life

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138, OMAP-L138

We used the L138 for various projects in the past, and we are considering it for a brand new project.

However, we can't find the TI's L138 end-of-life statement...

Cheers,

Uri

  • Uri,

TI recognizes its catalog products are sold to a wide variety of customers and used in a wide range of applications with expected production lifetimes in excess of 10 years. As such, TI typically does not end-of-life products in less than 10 years.

The OMAPL138 has not yet reached that 10 year mark and will not do so for another few years. Also it is one of our hero devices and you should not be concerned about EOL of this device specifically.

Hope this helps and alleviates your concerns. If you do have follow up questions on this topic, I do recommend contacting your local TI sales office.

    Regards,
    Senthil

You can very well consider it for new projects.

Actually, the OMAPL138 processor device and the OMAPL138 LCDK will be available.

I came across that the hardware board, "Zoom OMAP-L138 EVM" from the "Logic-PD" has released the EOL. This EOL is for the "Evaluation module" and not for the processor, "OMAPL138". May be you are asking about that??

But, as of now, no "EOL" exist for OMAPL138 processor.
