OMAPL138 "SYSCLKOUT" = "PLL0_SYSCLK2" or "PLL1_SYSCLK2" ?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but it appears as if the OMAP forums are read only.

While trying to setup a PWM output, I find the term "SYSCLKOUT" through-out the eHRPWM section of the datasheet. However, the term is not found anywhere else in the datasheet. The description for SYSCLKOUT is the system clock. This is somewhat ambiguous, but one could possibly extrapolate the meaning as being the ARM core clock which means the clock source for the eHRPWM section is PLL0_SYSCLK2 or PLL1_SYSCLK2 (depending on other settings).

Is this the actual source of the clock for the eHRPWM module ?

It looks like this entire section of the datasheet was lifted out of a TMS320 document and dropped in the OMAP document.

Thanks---

  • Hi Greg Helton,

Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages (for processor issues). Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics (e2e.ti.com).

Moved this thread over correct forum. We will get back to you on the above query shortly.

Note: We strongly recommend you to create new e2e thread for your queries instead of following up on an old/closed e2e thread, new threads gets more attention than old threads and can provide link of old threads or information on the new post for clarity and faster response.

  • Greg,

Are you referring the TRM ?

Your understanding is correct, the clock source for the eHRPWM section is PLL0_SYSCLK2 or PLL1_SYSCLK2 depends on the setting.
