Hello,

We intend to do large project with omap-l138 and dsp 6478.

The intention is to use TI's framework from dsp/arm support using TI-RTOS in both arm and dsp, and doing interporcess communication between dsp and arm.

Does TI-RTOS on omap-l138 support uart bluetooth ?

Is there any wiki which described this ?

For ARM, we don't have SYS/BIOS based examples but DSP.

We do have starterware examples for I2C,UART,GPIO,EDMA,EMIF and much more.

And we have Linux running on OMAPL138 (ARM core)

OMAPL138 doesn't have CAN interface.

Also conside AM335x which has CAN but it don't have DSP.
TI's latest processor which is K2G (ARM cortex A15 + C66x DSP core).

Hi Titus,

Thank you for this information. I would please like to ask:

1. Is it possible to port RTOS examples from dsp to RTOS arm ? Is RTOS good alternative for interprocess between arm and dsp?

2. Is there a guideline as to how to use sys/bios with arm ? I see that RTOS download is both for arm and dsp, so aren't the dsp example should work with arm too ?

3. Startware: Is it recommended over RTOS for dsp and arm ?

Yes.
Typically you could see the Wireless RTOS support only for controllers not processors.

Hi Titus,

If we need RTOS on both arm and dsp:
Is it advised to start with Starterware on arm (which includes driver), and then add above it RTOS ?

Another thing, how to boot when we have TI-RTOS on both dsp and arm ?

I have seen some customers that used starterware code and ported to SYS/BIOS.
Same procedure should be follow for booting.
You need to convert .out to .ais.

Do you think it is possible to write wifi driver with TI-RTOS & omap-l138.
Would you recommend porting the linux driver into TI-RTOS ?

In my opinion,
If you have got the bare metal code (wifi stack) for your wifi device, then you may have succeed on this.
If its serial WiFi device then its easy.
