Unable to start SYSLINK examples, cannot load code to DSP

When I try to run the examples from SYSLINK I get the following error:

Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 01c10a3c

I know this is an address for the MDCTL15 register from the PSC. I have the SYSLINK kernel module loaded. I also noticed that there is no entry in /proc/iomem corresponding to this, or any other of the PSC registers. It would seem this would be necessary for Linux to write to this address range.

Please do make sure that you have provided require bootargs for syslink module.

setenv bootargs 'console=ttyS2,115200n8 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rw rootwait ip=off mem=32M@0xc0000000 mem=64M@0xc4000000'

The problem I am having seems to be in accessing the PSC registers to control the DSP, not the shared memory space, that is available.

You can do the below and make sure that "console=ttyS2,115200n8 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rw rootwait ip=off mem=32M@0xc0000000 mem=64M@0xc4000000" entry is available.

cat /proc/cmdline

Hi Titus,

My command line is below

root@omapl138-lcdk:/ex02_messageq/debug# cat /proc/cmdline
mem=32M@0xc0000000 mem=64M@0xc4000000 console=ttyS2,115200n8 root=/dev/nfs nfsro
ot=10.43.231.24:/nfshost,nolock ip=dhcp

I am using the correct memory areas. This does not seem to be the problem.

What is your kernel version ?
Can you please use the Linux kernel v3.3 and corresponding SYSLINK version (syslink_2_21_01_05) mentioned in below wiki.
