RTOS/OMAP-L137: NAND Flash driver for OMAP-L137 EMIFA interface

Part Number: OMAP-L137

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hi,

On our OMAP-L137 EVM board, we have attached a NAND flash on the EMIFA interface. It is expansion 3, P13 connector. The NAND flash we have used is Cypress Semiconductor S34ML16G2.

We wish to use DSP/BIOS 5.4 along with BIOS PSP pspdrivers_01_30_01 and BIOS USB biosusb_01_10_03.

It seems the NAND driver in pspdrivers_01_30_01 does not support the ONFI standard and hence I cannot get the S34ML16G2 NAND flash chip to work with the board. On probing the control signal pins, and debugging the "Read ID" command from OMAP, I see no activity on the scope when a command write happens. I have made sure all my scope settings are good.

I believe due to this reason, I am unable to access the S34ML16G2 NAND flash chip using the software components I have specified above. Is there any solution out there already from TI, maybe a patch to support ONFI compliant NAND flash chips?

I appreciate any help.

Regards,

Yusuf Husainy.
